In this lesson I cover doTERRA's main compensation plans: The Power-of-3 bonus and the Unilevel bonus. These are the plans that allow you to create a (potentially large) passive, recurring income. The compensation you receive from these plans is in addition to whatever you make from retail sales and from Fast-Start bonuses described in the previous lesson.
The “Power-of -3 Bonus” is an important component of the doTERRA compensation plan because it provides a means for you, as a new Wellness advocate, to start receiving a nice commission fairly quickly.
It also encourages you to structure your down-line in a way that will make you the most money over the long term. That is to build “down” or to add new Wellness advocates to your deeper levels rather than “across” or to your first level. With this bonus . .
Once you have your down-line built out to your 3rd level, you can start to build another “leg” in your organization.
Once again you would start by putting 4 - 5 new Wellness advocates on your first level. You will receive the same power-of-3 bonuses on your second and subsequent legs as on your first!
This is doTERRA's main compensation plan in which you can receive commissions on all PV purchased on 7 levels of your down-line.
Looking at the image above, notice that, in doTERRA. you receive the highest commissions on your deeper levels and the lowest commissions on your upper levels.

This gives doTERRA Wellness advocates a huge monetary advantage over distributors in other MLM companies, which typically do the reverse. That’s because, since MLM organizations grow in a somewhat exponential fashion, you will have the greatest number of Wellness advocates on your deepest levels.
So paying out the highest commissions on these levels means you ultimately will make far more money than you would if this compensation plan was reversed.
The chart above shows monthly bonuses earned when each Wellness advocate on all 7 levels adds 3 new Wellness advocates to their first level with each one placing a 150 PV order for the month.
On the left is the doTERRA compensation plan that pays higher percentages at deeper levels. The reverse plan, which pays higher percentages at lower levels - which is what most MLM companies do - is shown on the right.
Notice that on levels 1,2, 3 and 4 (in which you would have a total of 3, 9, 27 and 81 Wellness advocates respectively), those on the payment plan on the right are making more money than those on the left (the doTERRA side).
But beginning at level 5, this reverses - with the doTERRA side paying out $3,046 a month and other MLM companies paying out $2,784 a month.
And by the time you get to level 7 you would be making $32,571 a month in doTERRA compared to $12,626 a month in most other companies.
Notice in the illustration above that a certain rank is required to be eligible to receive compensation at different levels of the Unilevel compensation plan. (Once you reach the rank of "silver" you are eligible for compensation at all 7 levels)
